The mountains
around Atlin are a paradise for all kinds of wintersport activities, even
Santa enjoys the fresh winter air
Snowmobiling:
Atlin offers
it all from easy trail riding on old mining roads to high alpine sledding.
The area is very big and there is plenty of room for everybody and best of
all there are NO FENCES.
An annual spring event is the Atlin Mountain
Challenge. The racers' ascent up Atlin Mountain takes as little as 3 mins.
50 secs. to climb a total of 4400 vertical feet to the finish line. Coming
down takes a bit longer!
Cross Country
Skiing:
This
is GREAT in Atlin. We have superb conditions thru March and April. You can
ski on old mining roads and trails or pick one of the many lakes near by.
You are sure to find an enjoyable day.
In 2002 the first Annual
Teresa Island Quest was held: a 75 km cross country ski race over 1 or 2
days. Every one participant in this first race thought it a tremendous success.
Plans for the 2003 Quest are in an advanced stage.

Skiing
- Snowboarding:
Since 1994
more than 1000 skiers from all over the world have enjoyed a week of Heliskiing
with Klondike Heliskiing.
Also available are one day skis.
The
Road in:
The Atlin Road is maintained year round and is excellent for winter driving.

the early spring, people in northern communities suffer from an affiction called
"cabin fever". Whatever the reason for this, Atlinites are ready to
cut loose by March, and what better venue than Atlin Fun Days?
