Safety First

Welcome to our beautiful wilderness area. We hope you will enjoy your stay in this unique country and have a great time in our outdoors. If you are not used to wilderness travel, consider some precautions before taking off on a trip.
-----Be prepared for your chosen recreation. Make only trips for which you physically and emotionally prepared.
-----Always take the essentials with you. Be ready to stay out overnight.
-----Complete a trip plan (available at Atlin's Happy Trails) and leave it with a responsible person or the Atlin RCMP
-----Do not venture out alone.
-----Do not panic if you get lost and stay where you are. Do not wander around.
-----Use signalling devices: blow a whistle, light a fire, make smoke. Make yourself visible
-----Build or seek shelter. Protect yourself from the elements, but in daytime remain visible to searchers.
-----Consider renting a satellite phone: Globalstar satellite phones are locally available for rent through Atlin Realty, Second Street & Rant Ave. P.O. Box 316, Atlin B.C. V0W 1A0, phone: 250-651-7771,
