The Studio

On First Street, just north of Discovery Avenue, sits a little gray building covered with quilts - the home of The Studio. A portion of this historic building was once located on Spruce Creek. Many years ago the cabin was moved onto its present location. When the owner was to be married he started the addition, the bride did not enjoy northern living so moved back to Vancouver. The little house remained unfinished inside and is that way today with its rough flooring and open walls. New bright colors inside and out invite you in to browse, to shop, and to enjoy the eclectic collection of just about everything that will interest both men and women.

Quilts, Cards, Paintings, Collectibles
The quilts and paintings are original designs of the owner, Shirley Connolly. Many of the quilts have been awarded prizes at international quilting exhibitions. These quilts have been juried into shows and featured in books and magazines. There is a large collection of old bottles, all found near Atlin. The extensive card selection, the largest in town, features new and old photos of Atlin and area. In addition, many of the quilts and pintings are featured on the original art cards, too. The Studio is open most days during the summer months. A sandwich board sits on the side of the road during open hours (no, she doesn't sell sandwiches). If you are looking for a unique or unusual gift, at a price to fit every pocketbook, or just wish to browse, The Studio is worth a visit.
